15 Songs I'm Digging Right Now: #38
"Sexy French woman who sounds annoyed with me" should be its own genre! It would be my favorite.
"Vogt Dig For Kloppervok" - The Books (2005)

A folktronica song that’s heavy on the samples. I’ve shared The Books with y’all before, but I really do love them. This track prominently features Lewis Carroll’s “Jabberwocky” poem, which is exciting if you’re a fan like I am. Now that I think about it, a lot of songs reference “Jabberwocky.” Should I make a “Jabberwocky” playlist?
"7 AM" - Jacqueline Taïeb (1967)
Spotify | Apple | YouTube Music | TIDAL
Sexy, naughty, French pop. It’s one of my favorite genres. I’d describe it like this: a “popular music” song, usually from the ’60s or ’70s, where a French woman is not exactly singing and not exactly talking. Her vocals sound completely effortless, but also like she’s kind of annoyed with me. All of this makes it very sexy. I wish I was her.
I also have a real thing for talk-y women singing lyrics that sound like they could’ve come from a diary or an early 2000s blog. (“Christmas Wrapping,” anyone?)
Congratulations, @solaakingbola! Your video is this week’s Video Of The Week!
