14 Boiler Room Moments That Made Me Stop What I Was Doing: Pt. 1
Over a dozen moments from eight different Boiler Room sets.
I should warn you upfront that I’m 80% sure today’s newsletter cannot be viewed on mobile and can only be viewed via desktop. It turns out you can spend the summer preparing months’ worth of Substack playlists and newsletters, but you cannot anticipate what Substack and your phone can and cannot handle, re: emails. Lesson learned! But, because of my flub, you’ll get Part 2 in a bonus Wednesday newsletter. Part 2 will contain the rest of the videos.
With housekeeping out of the way, I’ve got a real party of a newsletter for you today!
Back in May, I asked my followers a simple question:
I spent the next few weeks listening while doing an assortment of chores. In the hours I spent listening, there were a few moments so good I’d let out a little noise and stop whatever I was doing. Here are those moments:
Folamour | Boiler Room: Streaming from Isolation
The first time I heard this, I got so hyped up I ran around in little circles in my apartment.
100 gecs | Boiler Room: Los Angeles
Listen, do I think this is really good? No. There’s, like, three seconds in total where I’m really digging it. But I think “Are You That Somebody?” is an ambitious song to gec-ify and I believe Timbaland would respect them for this. Also, people forget that “Are You That Somebody?” was WRITTEN FOR THE 1998 EDDIE MURPHY DR. DOOLITTLE MOVIE.
This one makes me feel like a teenager in the movie Project X! (I’ve never seen it).
Fred again… | Boiler Room: London
I was told by many of you that this set is a classic! After I finished, I understood why!
This mix of Lil Baby’s “Real As It Gets”! 😮💨
SPOTIFY | APPLE | YOUTUBE | TIDAL | AMAZON
Somebody airlift me to the hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
